Too big for its own shoes...

For a company that prides itself for its customer service, Apple may be slipping.

I am currently blogging from an Apple store which I have visited for the second time in just as many days, two apple employees have confirmed the problem that i am having with my ipad and both have suggested that a "Genius" will most probably replace my ipad for me, but two visits and an hour and half later I am still sitting inside the said Apple store waiting for a so called "Genius" (note my use of inverted comma's). The next available genius bar appointment is in 172 hours time (7 days and two hours time), the other option suggested to me by a blue shirt was to flick back and forth on the concierge page and hopefully when an appointment became available I would be able to book myself in.

Are we to agree.... too big for its own shoes??

The one with the iPhone 5...

The good people at All Things Digital have enlightened us to some pretty information that has got iPhone fanatics bouncing of the walls. October 4th 2011 marks the date where CEO Tim Cook get to step into that lime light that Jobs has been hogging for the past decade. What better way to make an entrance then with the reincarnation of Apple's most adored baby.

For now all we can say is watch this space.....

The King of The Jungle

At $29.99 Apple's roll out of a new OS is not just reasonable but it undercuts its Windows counterpart. With over 250 new functions critics suggesting that Lion is the equivalent of a Windows Service Pack can be written off. Some pretty cool functions such as iCloud integration, Launchpad, and the ability to boot directly into Safari are interesting functionality increases that all OS X uses will welcome.

The Cloud just got exciting

Some may remind you that Google have done all this years ago, and as someone who uses Google Doc's regularly I fail to understand why it took Apple so long to jump on the bandwagon, the concept has long been perfectly formed just for Apple. Simplicity via wireless integration allows owners of Apple products to absorb all their data on all their devices, from their Macs to their iPods and from their iPods to their iPads. All the possibilities are endless, If you didnt think a cloud could have a silver lining, Apple have just gone and proven you wrong, the only question remains is how cautious will the public be over putting their valuable data online, especially after the like of Sony, Citigroup and even the big boy on the block Google have all been victims to cyber crime.

Apple - Back to the Mac

So who else noticed that little facetime icon hideing away in the OS X dock during the unveiling of iMovie 11 Engadget sure did : )

That was the first thing that made me smile, next stop 10.7 aka Lion, I don't expect to see a revamp on the visual elements of the OS but I'm sure Apple have done what it does best and the OS framework will sparkle with little delights. Apple comfirmed that all its R&D on projects for the iPhone and later the iPad would be re-emerging in some way, shape or form in OS 10.7.
Who know maybe we will be blessed with a bunch of new touch gestures, touch screen iMacs or new breed of Macbook Pros with touch sensitive screen. If that is the case then my first question will be: how are you to keep all those grotty fingerprints off your screen?

...Microfiber cloth anyone?

The other major highlight of this event has been Apple's new Macbook Air, is it me or is it getting more are more like a super bad ass netbook. Granted Apple are pumping it full of electrical steroids to keep it more nippy then all other netbook counterparts, but with the induction of a 10" model, you can forgive me for thinking that this is Apples offering for those netbook fans out there.

Check out Engadget for a more through analysis, as here I have just keep it sweet and short
